EXPEDITIONS BY REGION

Since Xavier Expeditions began, we've been exploring wilderness. As we grow, we will offer new destinations. Detailed below are places we go, grouped into three regions. For specifics on this year's destinations, visit Upcoming Expeditions

GREATER YELLOWSTONE (Region A)

The Greater Yellowstone Area (GYA) includes more than just Yellowstone National Park. 85% of the GYA (over 12 million acres) includes remote wilderness and rugged mountains, like the Absaroka, Beartooth, Teton, and Wind River ranges. The slideshow below summarizes our destinations in Greater Yellowstone. Hover over each photo to learn more. (Images below are public domain NPS or USFS photos)

RIVER OF NO RETURN (Region B)

The magnitude of this area is rare outside of Alaska. The vastness of the Frank Church-River of No Return and Selway-Bitterroot wilderness areas make it one of the largest contiguous wild areas in the 48 states accessible only by horse or foot. It is a land of clear rivers, deep canyons, and rugged mountains. The slideshow below summarizes River of No Return places. Hover over each photo to learn more. ANCIENT SOUTHWEST (Region C)

This landscape is pregnant with story. From depths of the Grand Canyon to great rivers, like the Colorado; from the mosaic Painted Desert to sacred ritual sites, dwellings and wall art of an ancient people at Canyon de Chelly and Chaco Canyon, this area fills the imagination with the presence of a time agone. In that nostalgia, we grasp who we were, who we are, and who we ought to be. Where else can one come to know what the Navajo mean by sa'a nagahi'i bik'e hozho, walking in beauty? The slideshow below summarizes places we visit in the Ancient Southwest. ALASKA (Region D)

We are planning future destinations for Xavier Expeditions within and beyond the 48 states. Here's a few that we have in the planning stages. These may change, including the dates forecasted as our plans begin to materialize. Hover over each photo to learn more about our possible destinations.
